Mailed Ballots: Ballots for the General Election were mailed to all active Charleston voters on September 30th. If you don’t receive your ballot by October 7th, please contact the Clerk’s Office at 895-2814. You can return your ballot by mail, by drop-off to the Clerk’s Office, or at the polls on November 3rd between 10 am and 7 pm. No appointment is needed to return your ballot early. Simply knock on the door and we will take your ballot. Mail or drop-off during office hours are the most secure methods. If you are comfortable leaving your ballot after hours, you can do so in the locked drop box outside the Clerk’s Office door. PLEASE NOTE: ballot mailing envelopes are TOO LARGE for this box. Deposit your ballot in its signed certificate envelope–these fit just fine.
In-person Voting: If you received a ballot by mail and wish to vote in person on November 3rd, please bring your ballot with you to the polls. If you do not, you will be required to sign an “Affidavit of No Ballot Cast” at the polls.
