Notice of Proposed Highway Discontinuance
Notice Date: September 3, 2020

Taylor Farm Rd TH51
Proposed change: Discontinue this 0.15 mile Class 3 Town Highway #51, which begins at Bowen Hill Rd (off Hudson Rd). If approved, Taylor Farm Rd will become a private road under the ownership of surrounding landowner(s), and will no longer be a town/public right-of-way.

The Selectboard will hold a site visit to the road at 5:30 pm promptly on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Immediately following, the Selectboard will hold a public hearing at the Town Clerk’s Office for the purpose of receiving testimony from any interested party regarding this proposed change. You may also submit testimony in writing ahead of time, to be reviewed at the hearing. Written testimony can be submitted by email to charlestonadmin@comcast.net or by mail to Town of Charleston, 5063 VT Route 105, West Charleston VT 05872.

At a future Selectboard meeting within 60 days of the hearing, the Selectboard shall consider all testimony and the public good and render a final decision. This deliberation will begin at their regular meeting scheduled for 6:00 pm on October 8, 2020, and a decision may be rendered that evening.
